I DONE DID IT AGAIN!!!

Post by Srkoe »

We took the kids to the zoo in another town and there was a fish store we had never been in, so of course we had to stop! PUFFER HEAVEN!!!! Lots of Congo, sap's, hairy's, Fahaka's and an Mbu! There was an absolutely gorgeous 2" fahaka that I fell in love with.....didn't get it though...can't afford another Fahaka. This was the first tome I have seen hairy puffers in real life...sorry folks, but they are just ugly :(. The tanks in this store were pristine and beautifully healthy fish! I couldn't stop myself from doing it....I FINALLY GOT MY CONGO!!!! She is soooo cute about 1 1/2-2", light tan. There were so many to choose from. She was the largest and very active, trying to eat others fish in the tank...lol! She's chilling in qt atm. She will be going into my old sap tank in a few weeks. So this means that I am now on the hunt for two new tanks for my gsp's 8)

Unfortunately yes. There were about 3-4 tetras of some sort with them, and an Otto.

OMG lucky dog!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the Congo!!! Sounds like most fish shops need to take tips and notes from this one.

I have never seen such clean tanks in a fish store before. I was worried at first because this store was in the ghetto. You cannot judge a book by it's cover though!!!! They have amazing prices as well. I came close to buying a Congo about 3 weeks ago @$75 from one of my gave stores, but could not bring myself to do it. I found my Congo today for $25. I know price doesn't always matter but this was the same size fish and looked healthier. 2" Fahakas for $50 around here...new place $18! I really checked this store out before I purchased and I did not see one single dead fish in any tank. Even in my other fave LFS I'm bound to find something dead somewhere. It has been owned and operated by the same family since '67 I believe. The owner was so sweet and helpful. Sorry I keep going on and on but if you only knew what I have to work with here you would understand why I'm stoked!!! Lol!!!!

How far away was that store? Did you say anything about the Congo's aggression? Were the fahakas separated, at least?
