Hermit crabs
Thinking of adding two large hermit crabs for a clean up crew. Does anyone have hermits with there puffers? My stars and stripes was interested in my urchin for about a day, then lost interest. I was thinking if the hermits were big enough the puffer wouldn't mess with them?

Re: Hermit crabs
how big is the S&S? I saw one the other day and it was HUGE! Would easily rip apart a hermit.
if you follow me, you avoid stepping in the crap that I just did...

Re: Hermit crabs
I have a smaller poochface in my tank, a female Valentini. I also have 2 hermit crabs in her tank for cleanup which they are quite good at. As long as I keep her well fed, she leaves them alone. I do not know about the larger poochfaces. You could always try it for a week and see. I'm sure yours will nip it at at first but as long as there are other sources of entertainment and food around they should be left to do their jobs.

Re: Hermit crabs
Well I am taking a shot at this, I got a huge Hermit for my tank. He was living with a dogface and a huge S&S puffer, and two trigger fish.

Re: Hermit crabs
Well so far so good. The puffer was interested for most of the day yesterday, but isn't anymore. The hermit has been cruising all over the tank LOL. I really hope this last, the sand could use a good cleaning LOL.
