Hi I have some nice live rock, I have no use for it can I kill it off and use in fr tank I have some really nice bits that stack well and would make great habitat for dwarfs. If I can kill it how do I do it? Thanld

Why not sell it to someone that can use it and spend the money on some other rock

thats what i did!

when i switched my tank back over to freshwater from salt, i took all of my rock, boiled it, and set it back up in the tank...

ill put picks up

but i think it looks awesome haha

How long did u boil it? Shall I scrub the coroline off is it safe to add tto a running tank after a good clean and boil?

i probably boiled each rock for 15-20 min, then flipped it over (because it was bigger than the pot) and did it for about another 15-20 min

then i scrubbed a little and washed them off

cheers, after that it should be ok to add to my running tank, yeah?
your pics look great, that just the look im after, my rock fits 2gev so well and have some nice bits, much better than the standard rock from my lfs

normal rock is £15.00 a peice and is boring and all soft edges so cant build with it, and ill only get £5 a kilo on ebay for this, i like this rock better and will save £££££££ this way aswell

I would sell the live rock too, seems a shame to kill it off! - I bought 25kg of ocean rock for £20 on ebay last year - looks just the same as live rock, but without the live bits!

i like the rock i have its already in the pan,the 1st rock i have boiled any life has now turned green,ii have soaked and scrubbed but it isnt really coming off?
is this still ok to add to my fresh water tank like this?thanks

what do you keep in with the rock? does it send your ph up high? thanks

my ph is fine, its at a 7.8

i dont add anything for that

and i bought mostly base rock and cured it myself when i went SW

so its not like i wasted money on the LR

i only bought 2 small pieces of LR at the time
