Hello,
i have probably moaned for what seems an eternity about my Dp which wouldn't eat frozen food.
After having live snails and bloodworm (which is exhausting to keep up with- constant visits to LFS)
and trying all frozen options I have gone back to trying live whiteworms.

These worms i was storing in the light where they would hide in the compost. I use to get as much dirt in the Tank as worms.
Finally I stored the Tub of worms in the dark and hey presto they head out to the lid and make themselves eat to scoop out.
It is easy.
i split the worms in to two batches and the 2nd is in another tub of compost and are hopefully breeding well.
Phew! The 6 month journey has hopefully ended.

If I'm not mistaken, white worms are pretty fatty. Are you certain that these are an adequate or proper diet for DPs.

Oh please dear god, let these worms be fine!!!! :scared:They do say live bloodworm is a bit fatty for most fish but seem to suit DPs.
If you know where you got this info from then can you let me know??

What about trying blackworms? Do some digging, see if you can find them :)

I was thinking that too. Aren't the outer shells also rather tough and hard to digest? That's what I've always read.

Hello,
My DP seems to eat Whiteworm as she would with live Bloodworm.
I am afraid to say that I'm not sure we have such worms as Blackworms in the UK. If I dig in the garden we only get Earthworms. Also we are having one of the coldest spells of weather for a long time here and the ground is frozen. Mad weather and all that.
I have got frozen Tubifex worms (I have read they are related to Blackworms) and my DP seems a little under excited by these.
I have Googled about the fat content and some say that it is high and someone else says that this is a common mistake to think that they have a high fat content.
I have no idea. I've heard it is easy to make your fish a bit fat with whiteworm. I think mine was fat eating Bloodworm to be honest, a lazy fish and a lot bigger in size than the fish is now.
