Thin SAP

Hi, We have had 3 new puffers today :)

Went to a fish shop and they had 3 SAP's but one was looking rather poorly so we told the attendant that we would take the healthier looking pair, he told us if we took the other two we could have the third free, so we took him.

He is a SAP around 1.5'' long with a very thin belly and darker coloration, the three of them are showing mild white spots so im going to treat that with aquarium salt and higher temps but i am unsure what to do with the suspected internal parasites?

I am in the UK so some/most/all of the treatments mentioned in the library section arnt available, will any parasite meds soaked into the food help?

Btw, the poo seems to be a normal color, lightish brown, not red or white.

We are trying to get a good picture of him to help.

Regards, Sam.

He maybe have been bullied and not eating well, give him a chance to settle in and eat some and see if he plumps up. If not meds would be a good idea

Ok, is it worth treating all of them anyway?

Is the aquarium salt and higher temp the right way to go for the whitespot?

Personally I would get them over the whitespot first, and then worry about the internal parasites.

Here is the recommended treatment for ich:

It sounds like you've read what we have in the library about internal parasites. Several people on here have bought their medications on Ebay. What antiparasitic medications are available to you?

SAPs are very sensitive to being moved & almost always develop ich & IPs. You can treat for both at the same time.

Thanks,

These http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/medicat ... 5_244.html are pretty much all the meds i can get hold of easily.

Could you recommend what ones to use? For the Ich and Worms/Parasites

Sam.

No meds necessary for ich. Read the link on treating, above. Use this for IPs: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/kusuri- ... 4he9889kk1
