Red Cherry Shrimp in a heavily planted FW 10g. They munch on algae and DP scraps. Just had a group hatch have verified 4 babies alive so far. Another female is about one week with eggs.

Re: Poll: Are you keeping and or breeding shrimp?
I keep ghost shrimp. I have kept red cherries.
Right now, I'm really into triops. I have several species. I will probably have eggs for sale soon.
I'd really like to acquire some ninja shrimp, plus several other types of freshwater dwarf shrimp.

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Re: Poll: Are you keeping and or breeding shrimp?
I currently have only Red-clawed Macro shrimp, Snowballs, and Red Cherry shrimp, all FW, all planted, 33XL, 10, and 20-long respectively. All are breeding, but the snowball shrimp are dying out very slowly - they ave never done well for me.
Technically, I guess you could say that I keep and breed the Hawaiian red BW shrimp, but they are in one of those Eco-sphere things, but as it is a closed system all you need do is get the light right. It is between 8 and 9 years old ATM.
In the past I have keep quite a number of different shrimp.

Re: Poll: Are you keeping and or breeding shrimp?
Breed cherry shrimp and they're fed almost everything. They get some of everything that every fish eats.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Re: Poll: Are you keeping and or breeding shrimp?
Cherry Shrimp in with my non-puffer fish and they get shrimp pellets and help the snails and pleco's with algae wafers. Got them to breed so I could feed them to my dp's but the dp's don't see them as food and I have actually one dp lay on gravel while shrimp walked over it!

Doing research in order to support some RCS, I'd love to breed them...
