A quick Q about GSP food?

So I have been looking to diversify my GSP's diet and I've read through so many articles that say that in their natural environment they eat shellfish and crabs and such - but here's the thing - My pet store doesn't carry anything like that. I am just wondering if shellfish and crab from the local store are okay for puffer consumption? I don't want to risk hurting her if there are added chemicals and such that could hurt her. If anyone has any information on this or where to get acceptable shellfish I would be very greatful!

Buy RAW, shell on shrimp and raw mussels and clams still in the shell. Its not possible to buy raw crab but you can feed them a bit of crab legs. Just put small pieces in the tank so they can chew on the shells and help keep their teeth trim. Same with the clams and mussels. Crack one open and drop half of it in the tank. They will scrape their teeth on the shell while eating the meat out of it. After their belly is slightly rounded, remove the shell so they dont over eat. My F8's love anything from the fresh seafood section at the grocery. Lol. Just make sure you buy raw. Nothing cooked (other than a little crab). I can pick up 2 clams and 2 mussels for just over a dollar and they last for several feedings. Just freeze and thaw as needed.

Another thing you can get is the mixed seafood packs (containing squid, octopus, crab meat, and shrimp) its really cheap, then combine with some crunchy stuff (snails or clams) and you have a well rounded diet for your little guy thats no more then 10 bucks every 3 months or so.
