Got my Fig8's and BB Gobies today.

Setup this 48g light brackish tank 3 weeks ago. Salinity only at about 1.003 right now. Eventually I'll be at 1.005 but I'm going reallllly slow in hopes the plants will adapt and survive in these conditions. Plants are common amazon swords, java fern (windelov), java moss and echinodorus bleheri. YES I realise the plants may not survive these conditions and I have plastic plants ready to go just in case so no replies telling me how doomed they are!

I fed them a few snails, a bit or brine shrimp (which only the gobies touched) and a bit of blood worms (ate up pretty quickly). I'm just trying to see what they will/won't eat. They seem to ignore the gobies completely right now, but I realise how likely they are to dissappear sometime.

I know driftwood in brackish isn't the best idea either, but if I notice any rotting I will replace with fake wood.

I like it, a LOT! One of these days I'm going to see if I can get some plants into the 1.005 or 1.006 range as well, definately keep this updated with how they do.

Those gobies look so incredibly tiny!

Yeah the puffers are already so big, and the gobies are about as big as a dime. I thought for sure they'd turn out to be food but they're still there!

The puffers seem to completely ignore them.

Looks like puffer heaven! Sorry if this was mentioned in another thread, but how was the tank cycled?

I've had the F-8 / bb goby combination going on now for almost 2 years...still have the same 2 bb gobies and the 3 F-8's obviously like them, or can't be bothered with them.

You tank looks nice - the problem I had with dwiftwood in BW is that it slowly leaks stuff (tannins perhaps) into the water and before you know it you water has a brown tinge to it. Just keep an eye out for that.
