We've never done this before so it means we'll have a million questions. We want to try and raise them though we figure they may not survive, especially since they're both young and it's their first time.
1. How do we tell if they're fertilized? The eggs are a nice peach colour but they're coming that way out of mom
2. What are some good reference websites we can go to if you guys don't want to walk us through this?
3. Food. What will they eat and what should we be doing now to prepare? I've read brine shrimp is good and they do best if raised on live food instead of just prepared food.
Looks like they're done laying. They're biting at the eggs but not actually biting or eating them, what are they doing? They're also fanning the eggs. This is pretty neat to watch. YAY for having the tank right beside the computer and yay for them picking the plant closest to me to lay on
The conditioning food appears to be the cherry shrimp we put in to eat our algae
I just fed them and mom and dad are hungry. We'll feed better once they're segregated from the rest of the fish as I don't want the parents leaving their post nor do I want to attract hungry fish to their post.
