Bumblee bee goby questions!

Post by Polkadotpuffer »

I was just wondering if anyone can help me. I have a 40gal tank with a baby molly in about 1/2 an inch long and its in with some much larger fish that can swallow it whole but they have never tried to eat her once. I was mis sold a 'firemouth' (albino) fish but turned out to be a convict Cichlid and she has not attcked the little molly. I seen a bumblebee goby at the pet shop and i do not know wether to chance putting him in my tank but then i think again about the little molly who has never been in eaten in a year!! Do you think my other fish will be ok with him? The goby is about the same size as the molly btw

I put him in a floating nursery inside the tank for about a week to judge the others reactions, they seemed ok so when i let him out he was chased a little bit but is now fine. He has teamed up with the fire eel in the tank as some sort of security guard haha they sleep together and everything :) cute

I have had convicts several times and at one point bred them for a while. When convits are young they are dosile, but as they get older and het sexual maturity they get very mean torawrds are other fish other then a mate. I would bet that you are going to have a problem with that.

I went to by a blood parrot fry which turned out to be a female pink convict...she was the size of my fingernail, but now is the size of a quarter..

She has beat up every fish I have (except for puffers, I haven't tried that, although I am tempted!).. I have moved her from tank to tank..and she beats up everyone..she was even stealing food from a 7inch pleco. Finally I had to put her in my snail tank to await going back to the pet store...but then she massacred nearly all my snail eggs..and the snails that are in the tank won't come out of hiding..they do not climb on the glass!
