New tank + Re-done Tank

Post by Lil' Swimz$ »

Hey guys. Today I just got a new tank, a 16 gallon Bowfront by Aqueon (I think). Has black Tahitian Moon sand and all fake plants.

And my 30 gallon that I have re-done. Also with black Tahitian Moon sand and all fake plants.

Very nice. Not a huge fan of brightly colored plants but I do like the little bowfront. The 29 looks much better now. :D

Peach is already in the 16 gallon and the 30 gallon is SUPPOSED to be for 2 irrubesco but my LFS may not be able to get them (I haven't got any word from them yet) or if not I'll get 5 or 6 DP's. Or possibly a congo. DROOL Although the congo was $60...

LFS couldn't get me irrubesco. Poo. So right now I'm thinking of 5 or 6 DP's or possibly breed halfbeaks???

Halfbeaks are my favourite fish! Lots about them on my web site. From personal experience I've found they mix fine with Carinotetraodon irrubesco, and will breed in tanks containing those puffers given space and floating plants. SAPs usually work fine too, saving the occasional nipped fin. But I wouldn't try mixing halfbeaks with dwarf puffers -- dwarf puffers are much nippier than either of those two species.

Cheers, Neale

I wonder what my lfs has just got in? They have had some halfbeaks in the past and I have read your articles on them.

There is space here yet for some. My three footer is running MT :)

Thanks Neale, cool site. :D I'm not positive if they would still have them but I'll have to check.
