RO/DI question
i found on CL a 5 stage RO/DI filter for $100, very close by to me. i want to get it but i wanted to ask around for the easiest way to set it up. do i need to saw into my plumbing lines and incorporate it, or is there a way i can have it tap into the water supply only when needed? from what i have saw they are to be put in-line. the house im living at we are renting so i dont know how installing it would go with the landlord. im sure it wouldnt be a problem if i asked before hand but just wanted to get info real quick before i decided to just purchase it. i know i will also need the membrane, filter replacements etc. so is this worth the buy? im thinking it is, but then again i dont know much about these things, hence the reason i come here

Re: RO/DI question
I connected mine to a garden hose attachment. I also bought a garden hose splitter and split my laundry washer water with RO. Then you can turn it off at the split. I found it at Lowes but couldn't find it on their site. I didn't want to put holes in the pipes either. This is what mine looks like. On the right is the RO going thru 3/8". If the filter needs all new filters, $100 sounds a bit steep.

Re: RO/DI question
You're going to need to buy new filters for that. You can probably get a brand new one with new filters included for close to that price: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
