Aquarium salt for a Fahaka?

Post by Adria »

I have been adding one Tbs of aquarium salt for every 10 gallons in most of my community tanks. Would you recomend this for a Fahaka? He is healthy and happy but I'm always looking to make an improvement. Same question for Indian Dwarfs. Thanks!

There is no evidence adding aquarium salt does anything to benefit freshwater fish. In small quantities, it does no harm either, unless you get ich down the road, in which case you will have salt-resistant ich and treatment will be difficult. I see no reason to do something extra with no established benefits.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

My two cents save it till you need it.

Because even after reading RTR's article you still believe the old wive's tale of using salt in a FW tank.
