Almost flushed puffs

A friend call to tell me that her friend (a boyfriend), who worked at walmart, said he was about to euthanize some puffer fish....which means flush them down the toilet at Walmart. they said something was wrong with their eyes.. So I went and got them...I figured if they needed to be euthanize I could do a better job than flushing them..did not pay for them of course...I walked in to the pet section and saw them sitting in a bag in the sink..so I grabbed them and took off...and here they are..

There were 4 in total, but in this quarantine tank there are 6. the two smaller, healthier looking ones I have had for about a week, from yet another friend who did not want them..

I decided to keep them..all of their issues seem superficial and within one night they were already in better spirits, eyes are getting better as well..

THANK GOODNESS..I live near some major cities were I can hit Craigslist up for a gigantic tank to house them!

I forgot to add...one reason I am posting the video is so that if I missed any issue they may have, others can see it and give advice...

I got the call and it took me a while to get there since it was so far away..

I was afraid that the guy's shift had ended..

So, if I called for help, I might get some uppity assistant manager who would want me to pay for them...

How do you know if you are a GSP addict (all things I have done)

Drive out in the middle of a tornado warning to rescue GSPs
Consider re-upholstering your furniture to be green with black spots..
Consider taking out a home equity loan to create a GSP puffer room with tanks from ceiling to floor..
Think about charging admission to see your puffers...
Your favorite recent dream is about coordinating/decorating new tanks..
Hating Walmart so much you refuse to shop there, whereas before that is the only place I shopped at...
Hearing or seeing these words together makes you want to violently punch someone "Green Spotted Puffers, a freshwater fish"

Seems so heartless to flush those poor puffers when nothing is really wrong with them. I can't believe that Wal-Mart can't come up with a better way to deal with returns. That seems so heartless. Heck, I even hate flushing a dead puffer, let alone the thought of flushing a live one!!

Crazy or not, you definitely have my respect.

they were not returns..

these were puffs they had for a long time and due to malnutrition and poor water they all developed something wrong with their eyes...and one of them looked like he was going to die..

they did not want them in the main tank..because they looked sick LOL Gee I wonder why??

Oh, so through their (Wal_mart's) negligence these poor puffs were sick, and instead of doing the right thing and trying to make them better, let's just flush them! I can tell you that, if I was still living in the US, I think I would have to boycott Wal-Mart just because of their screwed-up rules regarding fish.

Well, I still say "well done" Purple, you have given them the life they should have had from the start. They never asked to be taken from their home in the wild, and what do they get, mal-treatment!

Yay! I'm so glad you got them. I hope you also talked to a manager about not ordering in any more puffers! This works surprisingly well as they don't want to do anything to cause themselves bad publicity.

And just to add to the list, I'm seriously considering dying my hair green, black, and white- GSP style. And when I have the money I'm getting several GSP tattoos

The eyes appear to be chemical irritation. Add some Melafix and keep the water pristine and it should clear up. So should the nipped tails and fins. Don't try to fatten them up too fast though, they aren't used to having good foods and it can wrek havoc with their digestive tracts. Watch their intake and their output, as you know they can possibly have IP's but also can develop blockages from letting them gorge on food. The worms are a good idea to fatten them up but feed in smaller amounts a little more frequent.

Had to feed them the big worm so I could get them together for the video

Two of them -the really emaciated ones- won't eat more than 2 or 3 blood worms..

I am using melafix and it seems to be working..

I do not think anyone saw me..

the pet section is a notorious blind spot for walmart security cameras because they stack stuff so high on the shelves (bedding and dog food)

plus i went out the garden center ...and thanks to some convenient tornadoes and thunder storms the areas around the cash registers were flooded (nice sideways rain)...and employees were in a panic trying to clean it up..
