Unhappy GSP

Hello,

I have a young (3 to 4" including tail) GSP (Blobby) who is currently living alone in Brakish (0.011 salinity) aquarium.
The aquarium is roughly 100 litres and is filtered by an eheim classic. The water is tested weekly and is fine. a 10 litre waterchange is also conducted weekly. The water is kept at 78 to 80 and the lit by 2 t8 tubes. The aquarium contains numerous pieces of fake live rock giving several hiding places (these are moved weekly (except for a large flat piece at the rear). He is fed snails (from my planted tank), river shrimp, and frozen seafood.

Blobby seems rather nervous, spending most of his time hidden. Is this normal?

Yes, actually they are not all that active, at least in my experience: my GSP, my Ceylon, and my Bronze puffer all spend most of their time sleeping.

My GSPs are the most active little guys I have known! They "rest" for a couple of hours in the afternoon in their cave, but for most of the time they are racing around, looking for trouble.

And please detail the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings in numbers. "Fine" is a judgment, not data.

GSPs IME are quite active.

Ten percent partials weekly are pretty small for any puffer tank.

I agree--all 3 of those fish I've kept & they only stopped swimming at night.

My GSP hides or sleeps most of the day, but in the evening when we move into the living room to watch TV, she gets pretty active and stays that way until we go to bed. I have wondered if maybe she's bothered by the two blue damsels in her tank, but when she's up and around she acts like they're not even there and they definitely don't keep her from eating, so I don't think that's it.

My modestus has been pretty inactive since I got him. He tends to hang out in one or two spots most of the day, although he's quite active early in the morning, just as the light is starting to come in through the window blinds. He's active at feeding time of course, but after he's hunted down and eaten all his snails, he goes right back to his corner.

My Ceylon is the most active of the three. He spends about the same time napping in the darker half of his tank as he does swimming around. When I'm at my desk at the side of his tank, that's when he's the most active by far, usually pacing back and forth begging for food and sometimes even making big splashes to get my attention.
