I read recently that peas are a great supplement to feed porcupine puffers that don't graze algae. We gave it a try and Porky loved them! Has anyone else heard of this?

I've had a few puffers that liked algae wafers.

be a great way to inject vitamins into there diet.

My burrfish (similar to porc) really loves them too.. but she is completely a weirdo!

Shakespeare is usually good for 1 to 3 peas if offered, but no more than that.

just regular canned peas? i would like to try and see what my puffer would do

I never tried the canned peas, just freshly frozen ones as an occasional treat. Too often and some puffers can develop a bit of an addiction to them making it hard to take their regular staple foods.

cool i think we actually have some frozen peas i will have to try it out with one or two of them and see how he likes them

Peas= puffer narcotics

Thaw them out in a little water and then peel the skins off before you feed them.. the skins are hard to digest.

ok thats good to know about the skin of the pea. i wasnt home much this weekend so i couldnt try it, but definitely am trying tonight especially if peas= puffer crack
