Scared Puffer
Scared Puffer
I have a dwarf puffer that is in a five gallon tank. I have had him for about a month. Everything at first was going really well. He would always greet me at the tank and within the past few days he seems so scared. Every time i go up to the tank he swims away so fast to get away. His tail is curled when i go up to the tank and appears very scared, and when i walk away he starts swimming again. He is hiding in his cave and has not been eating as much as he was before. What should i do?

Re: Scared Puffer
Does the tank have a lot of either live or artificial plants - a lot, not a few. If at least the back half, or one diagonal hal, is dense cover, the DP is more likely to regain its normal behavior.

I agree, I think the puffer needs to feel secure and maybe he's not feeling secure if he doesn't have sufficient coverage.
