New figs of 8 - were brought from fresh water

Post by autophotos »

got some fig 8s today - i took four of them - i wish i could have taken more - he was talking about flushing the rest if he couldnt find new owners - was keeping them in fresh water -

ive got them home now and into the old dp tank 30gal -

reading about them their meant to be brackish - so need to get my sg up - slowly - what salt do i use - marine salt?

cute little things they are - look perfect apart from bits of tail missing here and there from all the others in the tank with them -

can you tell what sex they are?

yep - some of the things ive seen in the last few weeks whilst looking for fish and puffers -

was at a lfs today - they had loads of tanks - most of them had white spot - the one tank had the puffers and white spot - i said have you treated them - his answer was yes - but he treated the whole tank system - so god knows what he used

With four in a 30 make sure you watch your water levels- especially at first. That is, nitrates, nitrites and ammonia. They'll raise the nitrate level pretty quickly- relatively.

Wow, I can't believe he actually said he was going to flush them! What sort of shop does that? I hate hearing things like that, just reminds me how disgusting people can actually be. Was that an independent shop, or one of the chain stores?

Congrats on the new F8's though, they are lovely little puffers!
