Sorry about the title but "wet fart" is the best description for what my new stars and stripes puffer did a couple of hours after getting it home from the LFS. It was bimbling around the tank and suddenly released a cloud of white fluid out of it's bum. I have kept brackish puffers for years but I am new to marine puffers (although I have a separate reef tank). I haven't seen any of the DPs, Fig 8s or GSPs that I had in the past produce this sort of "emmission". The white fluid looked like a thin version of the slime produced by some mushrooms however it soon dispersed into the water. The tank mates (Jewel Puffer and some live river shrimp as settling in food) have shown no signs of distress since the emission.
Has anybody seen similar behaviour in their puffers? Did it cause any problems?

Sorry, forgot to add, Nitrite/Ammonia 0, Nitrate 5-10, Phosphate trace. Well established brackish tank that was gradually brought up to marine over a 12 month period. Left it for a month and then introduced the Jewel Puffer. About 3 weeks later and the Stars and Stripes has gone in today.
