The decor gets moved around every time I do a water change, but that's pretty much it.

Yes. I have a bit of it in Squirt's tank. I did have a moss ball but it fell apart. Planted seems so hard! I've looked into CO2 setups. Would love to have my F8 tank lushly planted. All I've got alive in there now is green algea. lol

If you don't want to do C02, just buy some Flourish Excel. I believe SeaChem makes it. You dose a small amount of Flourish on a daily basis to maintain regular C02 levels for your aquatic plants. It's a cheap, effective and affordable way to directly infuse C02 into your water.mrgreen wrote:Yes. I have a bit of it in Squirt's tank. I did have a moss ball but it fell apart. What's the SG, mrgreen? If it's pretty high, it might be contributing to the plant death. Even javas can't take TOO much salt.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Re: Pictures of your setup
I'd like to make a suggestion, if I may .... I have 2 Ceylon puffers, and they really enjoy being under something, so maybe you could give yours a cave or something to hide under, that seems to be what mine like doing the most. They like to "rest" alot. So that's what I'd try with yours jrchkn, see if he wants some place to hideout.
