WalMart and Green Spot Puffers!

Post by newpuffergrl »

The WalMarts here in Austin,TX will not take anyones advice on the Green Spot Puffers..... They have them like 20 to a little tiny tank(maybe 5-10 gallons) and they put them in fresh water with a tbsp of aquarium salt!!! The poor things are skin and bones, turning black and have ich. I googled cruelty to fish and have found this petition on WalMarts cruelty to fish... http://www.petitiononline.com/sickfish/petition.html
Please check it out and sign it if you want I just feel that they should NOT be able to carry any fish at all they are all sick looking and they have absolutely no clue on how to care for them.

I'm learning that puffer fish are like pringles. There is no such thing as only wanting one.

Thank you all for the replies and taking the time out of your day to support this, I feel very bad for those poor puffers, it made me tear up seeing them in that condition!

I agree, it's very upsetting. I had to stop going by their fish department because it just kills me seeing those poor fish in that condition, and it's all I can do to not adopt one.

Same here, I get that all the time. People are really grateful to finally find a place where they can talk to someone who at least has something that even resembles a clue.
