Okay so iv finally got my water clear, Got the stocking list, Got breeder tanks for food, Got everything accept the fish and plants. However i find myself in a conundrum: I have a 10 gallon tank im going to be breeding ghost shrimp in, But I know im probably going to get wish with IP. So my question is: Would it be okay to treat the fish in the display tank? Im getting them all at once probably from the same supplier, And that 10 gallon and my 3 gallon are all i have besides that. So I obviously dont want to stuff them all in either. Stocking list is: 2 F8's, 3 Knight Gobies, 1 Dragon Goby. Going with a live planted tank of: 3 Micro Sword, 4 Java Fern, 3 Green Hygro. Filtration will be a Marineland Emporer Bio-wheel 400. Would there be any reason to opt for stuffing the fish in the smaller tanks? And if so, Why?

I'm not sure I understand your question exactly, but I can't see a reason to stuff any fish into smaller tanks at ANY time.

Yea im sorry about that. My question is: Is there any reason not to treat in the display tank?

IPs can be treated in the main tank. Serious bacterial problems cannot.

Why are you sure they'll come with IPs? I wouldn't buy a fish I was SURE would be sick!

Are you putting a dragon goby in a 10-gallon tank?

NO! Not unless i have no other options. Witch hopefully will never happen. But because i cant afford the overnight shipping on the fish. So im having a LFS order them for me hopefully and all the LFS here use centralized filtering and dont treat for parasites. Hence the IPs

Well, in that case, couldn't the lfs keep some of the fish you order until you properly home them all- especially the dragon goby? They do need LOTS of space to swim about AND just to live in general.

No no no man, Youre misunderstanding or im not explaining properly. Theyre all 6 going into a 55 gallon. the 10 gallon is for shrimp. I just wasnt sure if melaflix (that the right name?) would kill the bacteria on the filter. So i was nervous about putting them all in and treating.

I hope not. I've used it just fine. Just remember to take out the carbon while you're treating.

Yea I forgot that with the Accu-clear and conditioner. Wont do that again lol.

You know, after 1 week with us you sound like a totally different person than the guy who just wanted a puffer to attract chicks!

Melafix is safe & won't harm your biological filtration.

Lol, Il take that as a compliment. Although i knew id end up like this. I love animals too much to be a...Umm...Yea...To any of them. And thanks for the info.

By the way, Anyone know of a good powerhead for a 55 gallon? I dont want much, Just something to move the water from the heater down the back wall.

Most wild-caught fish, or any fish that have been kept in a pet store, are 99% certain to have parasites. The only situation where I wouldn't deworm as a precaution is if I bought the fish from a private breeder (that's how I got my betta), who makes more money by caring well for the fish than by not treating them. I did also skip deworming once when I knew that the fish was tank-bred, and it was a schooling fish that really needed to join the group - I wound up cutting quarantine short.

Yea, Just hoping they arent to ate up. Dont want my first puffball dieing on me anytime soon. lol.
