my Nigro

Post by ELISA80 »

Dear All.... I have bought 2 Nigroviridis and I'd like to have some suggestions to take care of them. Now they are very little and they live in a task of 150 lt of freshwater. I know that I have to change the water....the freshwater to brackish water. When do you think I must start to change water? At the begin of new year I'll change the task from 150 to 250 lt. Thank you for your answer....I'm sorry for my english...i'm Italian. Thank you so much. Elisa

Hello Elisa, and welcome to the forum! :D

First of all, I would suggest reading the article on caring for a GSP in the library. That should give you some good information.

Just remember that when you start to change the water from fresh to brackish to do it SLOWLY so you don't kill the bacteria in your filter. I start mine at like a teaspoon with each water change and keep raising it until you're at the correct level. You might want to get yourself a hydrometer, so you can see what your progress is.

Good luck with your Green Spotted puffers, they are very rewarding puffers to keep. :)
