Gone for a week. What to do?
Okay in two weeks I will be going on a cruise to alaska and will be gone for about ten days. I already have someone coming in to feed it about everyday, but I think it's a lot to ask of someone to come to your house twice a day to turn a light on and off. Do you guys have any suggestions or can I just leave the light on? Please help.

I have all 9 of my tank lights on timers. Most folks overfeed other people's fish. Have their food divided up into small Dixie cups & have them come every other day.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I have my lights on timers too, and I do as PP recommends only I use those medicine tablet boxes which have days of the week on each compartment because you can put frozen food in them and then store them in the freezer
Edit: Oh, and enjoy the cruise! Alaska, sounds great (very envious

Actually, I just use freeze-dried plankton for vacation food.

Got my from local diy shop. Only about £3 for the basic ones - you don't need anything fancy.

Hello!
I would like to ask if it is possible to leave 4 puffers (Colomesus asellus) on their own for a month, if automatic feeder and lighting are in place? If possible, what kind of food should be loaded?
Thank you!!

Re: Gone for a week. What to do?
Well, first, you need to start your own topic. You would go to the Forum (under the Discussion tab) and pick out the subforum (category) your topic belongs in, click on it, and then click "NEWTOPIC" to make a new thread. It's considered polite to do it this way, rather than using another person's topic.
Second, no, you can't. You need to have someone doing weekly water changes, for one thing. There needs to be someone checking up on them periodically, really there does. There are too many things that could happen.

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
