Sorry it took so long to get back to you, pufferpunk. A buddy of mine that enjoys giant species took that monster.
This Congo, that I am calling Tater, is an absolute eating machine. It will eat guppies until its belly looks just wrong.
And by the way...last week it hit my mystery snail and apparently wounded it pretty bad. The snail is not dead, as it still holds its operculum shut when you try to open it...but it has not moved in almost a week. He took a half moon shaped chunk from the front edge of the shell, too. He didn't touch it anymore, so I am assuming he was just hungry, and the snail was looking enticing. The snail was very active until this happened.
I have two olive nerites and one clithon coming for help with algae. I am going to be more diligent about keeping feeders available, so hopefully he'll leave the snails alone...we'll see. If I can get some gorgeous snails and some Anubias plants going with him...I'll be happy. He has popped a few leaves off their stems though...but once they get established that won't be a big deal.
I had a beard algae bloom two weeks ago and it sucked!
