Hi all
I have an empty tank lying around its a 60L Superfish tank with 24w PL lighting i have an eheim aquaball filter and 100w Heater.
I have some Black and White Gravel from an old tank (small grain) that has been stored in my garage i was thinking of washing it throroughly and adding it to the tank.
I have a trop tank running a Fluval 305 external filter my plan was to remove 1 of the 4 sponges from the 305 (i have a brand new 1 spare) and cutting it up to fit it in the bottom of the eheim mid section is eheim bio media and in the top is a small basket i was thinking of filling with carbon or do you recomend something else? ok so thats the filter what do you think?
ok this is the bit im struggling on water, from the tap i get a PH of 6.5 my RO is about 6.0 but if i go that way and add the Discus Minerals it buffers up to about 6.5 what would be the best route to go in the way of water is there a better way to buffer it and keep the minerals for the plants i hear the DPs like a PH of around 7
so assuming all that will be ok, how should i plant the tank and how many DPs can i have in the tank and what should i do about feeding etc is it worth setting up a small ice cream tub or something to grow some snails.
Thanks in advance
Gavin

Re: 60L DP tank
Maybe boil the gravel? You could do around 3 DPs, 1 male and 2 females. My DPs love thawed bloodworms and live ramhorn snails. I would say it would be worth it to breed the snails, I do.
