What would be a good number of fish for my 24 gallon tank? I was thinking a few DPs and 3 ottos. How many dps can I keep? I'm going to have 1 male and the rest female.

You can have 1 dp for every 3-5 gallons. 
I would do 4-5 DP's and a couple of otto's.
