Dwarf puffer question

Okay, this might not be as informative as I'd like but bear with me...
As some of you are aware, I am moving to Belgium in a matter of weeks now. Ready and waiting for me at the other end are my new DPs, currently being looked after by my bf, who has never looked after fishes before, but doing his very best under my guidance!
He is a little concerned that the puffers look unwell, as their colours have changed slightly since we got them. I've seen them on webcam and seen pics of them, and to me they look really healthy (round, eating well, active, etc), but I thought I'd ask the guidance of those who have had DPs before!
Here's a couple of pics:

He's concerned the one above is too dark (looks normal to me)?

These strange shiny blue spots appeared a couple of days ago, but they appear to be part of the markings as they are not raised at all. Its definately not whitespot as they are actually shiny blue (pics aren't great I know, taken on a phone
)
What do you guys think? Unfortunately I don't have the exact water perameters, just those from a test stick (I am doing this remotely from the UK!
) Nitrites, ammonia are 0, nitrites about 20-25, pH around 7. Water changes every few days of about 50%.
Do I need to worry?
