Puffing

Post by Dadof4 »

I went to bed this morning and as I walked in the room I glanced over at my Turgdis' tank. He was the size of a tennis ball and attacking the filter intake!!! As soon as he saw me he deflated and ducked under his stump looking ashamed. I gave him a little time to settle and then gave him a few worms so he wouldn't think I saw him.....then I laughed, real hard!

Cute!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

It makes me wonder too. I was cleaning and doing a big WC today and accidentally touched him with the siphon. All he did was go dark and cruise away to a corner, no puff or even looked like he was going to try.

My oto swam into the attachment on my siphon yesterday.

Luckly, the entry into the tube is so small that none of my fish could swim into it and get stuck. 8)

I wonder why they don't like us to see them puff. My palembangensis puffed once, but deflated as soon as she saw me. Afterward she pretended she had not done it. Her face was pretty funny: "I've done nothing. Nooo thing...."

That is the EXACT SAME THING that happened to me, i caught homer semi-puffed up, and when he saw me look over he quickly deflated and just stared at me like i was crazy staring at him for so long waiting to see if he would do it again!? :?

One of our newest editions puffed today, trying to show a sunken battleship 100 times her size who is boss  Joeri (other half, who is pretty new to the puffer thing) yelled and said "Oh no! Whats wrong with the puffer?!", and had to explain what it was upto! :D But she saw us watching her puffed up like a little pea and quickly deflated and swam away! so cute 8)

My first brackish tank was also the first time I tried puffers. I had 3 figure 8s in a 60 gal. with a scat and a mono sebae. For some reason one of figure 8s puffed up I was so scared I thought something bad was happening, I must have tested the water 3 times in 2 hours and kept my eyes on it for 5.
