Can anyone tell me what kind of puffer this is?

not sure if this is the right spot for this, but could any of you help me with what kind of puffer fish this is?? hes a freshwater puffer, currently about 2-3 inches long, seems to be omnivorous, and docile. (its not a red eye its just the camera effects)

Its a little hard to tell with the pics...if its possible to get anything better, it would help....there are a bunch of puffers that kind of look like that....

This is not a freshwater puffer. You will need to set up a very light brackish tank. What I mean by this is to use sea salt, not aquarium salt. Make your sg 1.002. This is the easy part. If your tank is cycled at fw you can add enough salt to the tank to bring the sg up by .002 points and you will not kill your bacteria. :)

so your saying they can have different colored belly stripes??? cause the one in the picture has a red belly stripe (its also in the name) and the one i have has a black belly stripe with no red what so ever on it. but thanks again for all your help.

yea i just noticed his black stripe is gone and now he has no stripe...that was only in one day. does it have like a chameleon like effect to it also or something??
