You would choose the snails over the puffers? Blasphemy!

why not just buy the sand and cover the gravel witrh about 2 inches of it?

Also buy your sister a tiny all in one tank and stick the snails from your big tank in there for her!

Then buy yourself a Puffer :)

You can breed snails in a square box net/fish breeding net that hangs at the top of your tank (that's what I'm doing)

Yeah I put some Ramshore in there and they laid their eggs on the flat round stones I put in there with them. There's no big ramshore snails left in there now though as I gave in to Naboo and fed them to him but there are some minute baby snalis in there. I just give them a carrot and they love that. I also have 10 5mm cherry shrimps in there with them which are going to be food when their big enough :)

I would just pour the sand over it, but physics stop me cause the smaller grained sand will fall and the coarser pieces of eco will still be at the top

Just put loads in there, it'll fill the cracks and crevises first and then build it up to about3 inches maybe more

:) No the Puffers take no notice of it although my Fake Simese Algea Eaters and Guppies suck the orange carrot poo's through the net from the bottom :)
I also think they may've sucked some of the very very tiny shrimp through the net

Here's a couple of pix of the net box, you cannot really see the snails very well and you can see one cherry shrimp that is starting to turn red, I've circled them all so you can have a look (it's still hard to make them out)

I think the net box is a really great idea, if they really would breed in there. I like how you put plants and rocks in yours :)

I do not like keeping my snails in a separete tank, I want to put mollies and danios in that tank.
Do you think fish and/or shrimp would eat the baby snails? Im considering a net box now, lol :D

No I asked the guy I got the shrimp from whether they would eat the baby snails and he said no, your fish wouldn't eat them either

Having a net box is great because they're really cheap and you don't have to have an extra tank with a filter and heater

The snails and shrimp breed quicker in a warm tank aswell

If you do get a net box and have the other tank empty maybe you could get some Dwarf Puffers for it :)

Have your shrimp bred in there?

And I am trying to get the mollies and danios out of my SAP tank, so no extra aquarium :( unless I totally get rid of them.
