hey i came across this site looking up info on dwarf puffers because i wanna set my 38 gallon tank into a dwarf puffer tank due to i bought a 72 gallon bowfront for my community tank i would like your advise on how i should set it up what are the best plants and what not to do and how many dwarf puffers i can put in it without maken them stressed out?
so any people wanna give me some advice for a soon to be puffer owner

You've made an excellent choice, Puffers are wonderful!! But be warned, once you get one, you will want more, and more, and more. So don't say I didn't tell you.
I have 7 Puffers in with my 3 South American Puffers. They appear fussy and nasty for a little while, but all my Puffers get along and they seem to have a system. I don't have any problems with biting or fighting. So I would think you could have a few in that tank of yours.
I used to have 4 Dwarfs in a 48-liter tank, which is about 12-gallons or so, and they were fine in that. I would advise using alot of plants. And make it interesting, my Puffers love moving in and out of the plants, and investigating things. They are intelligent little hummers and it helps to give them a tank where they can do things. You know, put ornaments in that they can swim in and out of, or around.
I'm certainly not an expert way by far, but I do devote alot of time to the happiness of my little guys. I had one pass away last week, got sucked into the top of my filter (I've since blocked that hole), and I was so sad, I was really depressed for all of the day, felt like I'd lost a friend.

Basic info is 3-5 gallons per dwarf puffer, try to get a ratio of one male to every two females and the more live plants the better for these guys.
So in a 38 gallon, you'd probably do perfect with 9 dwarves (try for 3 males, 6 females or something close to that) and say a bristlenose pleco for algae eating (not a common pleco).
If you look under the "learn" tab, there's some species profiles in the Pufferpedia and an article about sexing them is in the library.
They really don't care what kind of plants you have, as long as there are lots of them. These little guys love hunting out their own dinner, so its a great idea to get the tank well established with red cherry shrimp and pond or ramshorn snails breeding already, because dwarf puffers will spend nearly all their time hunting.

thx for the comments its very appreciated everytime i go buy stuff for my community tank i allways look at the dwarf puffers and say i want those so badly lol
