Twitching figure 8

Post by fishfrend »

While preparing my tank for a Fig 8, I went to my lfs to look at the fig 8's. Although there were about 8 of them in the tank, only one greated me lovingly. If I went to one side of the tank, he followed me. He seemed to wait while I looked at other tanks and actually seemed excited when I came back to him. The only problem... he "twitched" . His head did a "twitching" thing. His stomach is not nice and round, either (but not terribly sunken). Any thoughts? I really have fallen in love with him and would love to bring him home!

Did it look like he was "flashing" or rubbing on things? You don't want to fall in love with a sick fish.

How come you guys have the same avatar?

Went back to the lfs today to look at him again. I was very happy to see that his "twitch" was gone (although we still named him Twitchey). I brought him home and he adjusted to the tank nicely. He even ate 2 small snails and a small chunck of raw shrimp with no problems. I hope he continues to do okay! I will try and get a pic and post it asap. Thanks for all the help!

Oh, the avatar. I got if from Google images. Is that okay?

Did the site you took it off of specify it could be used? If not, you'll need to change it. We only allow pictures that are posted with permission from their owners.

Heh that same thing happened to me: I was desperate for a good pic of a GSP for my avatar, found one via google images, and started using it. Until Jase (member of this forum) informed me that it was his pic (and avatar) I was using. Somewhat embarrassing. :)

I can't get a good pic of my fig 8 (zoom not good enough in my camera, I think), so I'll use a pic of my dog, Olive.
