If there is a line going down the middle of the belly it's a boy. If there is no line then it's a girl. :D

Looks like a female to me. :)
Fish are people too, they just have gills.

It looks pretty young yet.. My GUESS would be a young male.

The yellow tint to the tail, the wrinkles around the eyes (second picture), the stripe that is starting to form going down the line and through the center of the tail.

However, the white, round belly looks more female-ish.. could just be due to being young and not fully developed yet. Honestly, its very so/so.

If you can get some pictures of him/her with the tail flared out and not clamped together, that might help some. Along with a closer picture of the eye to get a look if those are wrinkles or not.

Looks more like the 2 females I have- get a better pic of the eye region like Myaj said. My male has a less distinct spot pattern, eye wrinkles and a pale yellow line from his mouth down his belly. He's had those markings since he was 1/2 in.

And i know there's a thread around here somewhere with more pictures that I meant to add to the article but simply haven't yet... Maybe take a look at member Mareva's gallery for some additional photos.

How long have you had him/her? They all look like females when they are young.

If they are very small, it can be hard. I was told the first sexual sign that shows up is a yellow tinge to the belly and tail, and those are males. Everything else you pretty much have to wait until they are a little older/larger before you can tell for sure.

Its hard to know when its only one puffer, nothing to compare it to, both size and coloring. Maybe if you know of a store that has more dwarves, spend a few minutes in front of the tank seeing if you can see differences.. often being able to compare one to another side by side helps, and the bigger ones will obviously be older so that will help too...
