About 3 days ago I was given 3 figure 8 pufferfish, since they'd be tossed out otherwise and I had some extra space to house them. They're still small, so for the time being they are housed in my 10gallon aquarium that was already cycled and used to have mollies in them. I've switched out half the substrate for sand already and converted the water to Brackish conditions and they are doing well. I also have a couple dozen small snails (made sure they weren't Malaysian trumpet snails) that I feed them, as well as some frozen Mysis shrimp and the occasional live ghost shrimp. What else should I feed them as part of a rotating feeding schedule to make sure they receive the proper nutrients?

Anyway, while picking up the Peacock cichlids for my 55gallon aquarium today I went ahead and purchased a 30 gallon long tank for them. I had the idea of setting up an Iwagumi style tank for them. My plan as of right now is to put in the Amazonia aquasoil, then cover it with sand and setup the Seiryu stones in Iwagumi fashion. I was contemplating maybe adding 4 or 5 bumblebee gobies in with them once all is said in done.

I've classically stuck to rock-dwelling cichlids so my experience with planted tanks is nearly zilch. I'd appreciate any suggestions on which plants to go with that thrive in brackish water, and what type of lighting I should get. I'm thinking I'll need a canister filter for the plants, and I don't fully understand the CO2 system setup, so if someone could explain that in laymans terms it'd be great.

i feed my smaller puffer + in the case at the moment a baby 2" mbu allsorts. I buy frozen crayfish, mussel, cockle, prawn. etc ill chop it vvvv fine and sprinkle it in i find the other fish go mad for it aswell. try burying small peices of food under the subrtrate only in one place i find it good for them to activly sift through the substrate for food + keeps them ocupied.

frozen bloodworms + krill are great aswell as believe it or not chilid mix as usually this is a complete mixture of frozen krill plankton prawn all mushed up
