Re: how to tell if
There is an article in the library that goes over the signs a Puffer has parasites. Since your Puffer is wild caught he most likely has parasites. I would deworm him in case, he may not show signs now but could in the future if his immune system is compromised. Have you seen his waste? Look out for white and string-like poo which is a sign of parasites. How fast does your Puffer empty out after eating?
PUFFER RULES
Do not take your Puffer out of water (you can kill them)
Change water at least 1x a week
Change water immediately if there is high Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate
Monitor water levels (PH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, SG,etc.)
Give your Puffer snails to wear down his/her teeth
Soak dry food with tank water/vitamin water
When buying a Puffer look for one with a fat belly

PIMAFIX, its a good internal parasite med and even if they don't have it it won't hurt. So if you are worried then just dose them for one FULL cycle and then you will nknow for sure.

Really? I've never heard of pimafix for internal treatments of any sort, thought it was only for external infections.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

Re: how to tell if
i thought i had it recommended for internals. I used it on my fahaka a while back and he is a lot better now. I will definately submit to your recommendation since i know that you are more experienced than I. After reading up some more maybe some prazipro or some parasite clear would be better.
what would you say on this nick?
I do still stick with the full dose and cycle being administered per your advice.

Pimafix is for external fungal infections. It will do nothing for IPs.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: how to tell if
i found 1 called octozin, has any 1 used this and no if its any good.
im thinking off treating my 3 SAPs for internal parasites and de-worming them coz they are from the wild and i would like to clear things like that up so they can be happier and there tank mates hopefuly wont be afected by anything they might bring with them.
do u think this is a good idear and if octozin would do this, please any information would be good and also any treatments or a de-wormer you no off from uk that would be better
