ID on this fish?
i know i put this in my other thread but now i just want to know what this fish really is. the store called it a red stripe goby. but i cant' seem to find this fish anywhere when i look it up. any help would be great.

I think it's a juvenile Awaous sp. goby, quite possible Awaous flavus but the image is a bit blurry to tell.
Awaous gobies are fast-growing, short-lived (1-2 years) fish that live in freshwater/brackish water conditions but have larvae that develop in the sea. Not difficult to keep, provided the water is clean and well oxygenated. They are "earth-eaters" and prefer a sandy substrate; sometimes they will bury right into the sand with just their eyes showing! It's quite cute. In any case, keep in freshwater or low-end brackish, as you prefer.

yeah thanks, i found out what it was from another site but thanks for confirming it. i guess the common name is a candy stripe goby. i didn't realize they had such a short life span though. shame, it's such a nice looking fish, and very active from watching them in the store.
