Post by blondenblue »

This is a pic of my dogface he has recovered very well from his burping and getting stuck in the intake! But he is a little hyper and puffs when ever it takes his fancy! he will swimm around and then just puff! he swims up to the shrimp then puffs! he swims round his favorite rock then puffs! Any idea why this beauty Keeps Puffing????

Puffing is normally a reaction to stress, i.e. a fright or can be linked to water quality (bad water quality).

But I have also heard it can be territorial displays, i.e. trying to fend off the opponent or scare a presumed predator (like a scary human coming near the tank) Its even used in some mating displays, "look how large impressive and stunning I am"

Perhaps he likes his rock a bit too much or could have a shrimp fetish... lol
