Fahaka with nip tail
I got a fahaka right now and currently with my 2 GSP but I noticed that he has a nipped tail. Will the puffer's tail grow back to normal?

Re: Fahaka with nip tail
hope you realise that fahaka is a freshwater puffer and the GSP's need highly brackisch.
The fahaka could be very agressive too, so I wouldn't put it with other fish youdon't want to lose.
Mostly nipped tails will grow back after some time.

Re: Fahaka with nip tail
Have you read the GSP article in the library?
GSPs need 30 gallons each and high brackish-full marine when full grown. Fahaka's need 120 gallons and are pure FW.
Are you planning on separating them very soon? There will probably be lots of aggression (and possibly dead fish) if you don't soon.
Also use Pimafix/Melafix to help the tail grow back and prevent possible infection.

Re: Fahaka with nip tail
I believe you are the same fellow that posted this on MFK? Were you aware of their aggressiveness?
Fahakas HATE other puffers & will kill most any fish they are housed with. I'd return the fahaka, until you can properly house him or return the
GSPs.

i hoped he listened to what you guys had to say. It would be a shame to see three puff dead because of being missinformed.

Re: Fahaka with nip tail
The above posted is right...the gsp's need full marine when full grown, and high brackish when young..they wont thrive unless this is done.
i would keep the fresh water fahaka and return the gsp's ...eventually upgrading since the fahaka will get huge!
unless u are willing to go marine or are high brackish...one or the other has to go.
I wish it wasnt so..but someone will die.

I don't think he's seeing these posts. He mostly posts over at Monster Fish Keepers site. I'm not sure but I think he has 2 tanks now.
