Auriglobus modestus

I started out with 3 1" A modestus in a 40g tank. 1 jumped (always keep your tank covered!) & 1 I found dead & fungused (dunno what happened to him). The 3rd has grown to a nice fat (like any of mine aren't...) 4". I got word from another forum that my LFS had a nice sized one for sale. I went in & it was really about 2/3 the size of mine but thought I'd try it, since the other 3 got along fine. My 1st mistake was not redecorating the tank but I really liked the decor the way it was. The bigger puffer was checking out the bag but not biting at it. After acclimating for 30 minutes, I let the new guy out & the bigger one immediately started chasing him around & bit him 3x. It continued to chase the new guy relentlessly as I scooped him up. He's now back at the shop.

Please learn from my mistake.

Wow, snarky little buggers, aren't they?

Still, they are really pretty fish according to the picture over at the pufferlist.

Do they look that nice as adults?

Even better! I'll try to get a pic later. Although just like SAPs, they never sit still!
