i just grabbed a whole mess of small ramshorn snails from petsmart. the guy looked at me like i had lost it when i asked for them, but was eager to give them away.

i dropped a couple into the puffers tank and they got SUPER excited about hunting and eating them. theyve already gotten to know that if the lid opens theres a good chance its food. i only feed them once a day, but they get excited every time i open the lid. it was awesome. most of the snails i put in an empty 10 gallon to breed.

My lfs caught on to the idea that people feed their pets the snails---so they now charge for them. I love going to PetSmart and Petco where they still consider them a nuisance :o
Job 12:7-10. But ask the animals, and they will teach you; or birds of the air
and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will teach you; or let the fish
of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the
lord has done this. In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all
mankind.

Yes, the petco here wont sell them, but will sell you a plant and you get to keep any snails on it.
Petsmart looked at me funny, and the manager went "Yes, go for it, however many you can fish out" so me and the fish guy sat back there for a half hour and pulled 40+ snails... albeit small ones.
