Hi, my husband has had 3 dwarf puffers for about 2 months i think they are 1 male and 2 female. They are all getting along fine, the little male has always been smaller and abit skinier but recently he has got really skinny, he eats undisturbed seems ok in himself and seems quite strong. i was wondering if it could be an IP problem but was not sure if it would take this long to show? and if so what would be the best treatment for it? he does have a kinda sunken in belly i think hard to see properly as he swims so fast but he is deffinately very skinny compared to the 2 girls.
I would hate to see him die and want to do everything i can for him.
The water parameters are ammonia nitrate and nitrite all at 0 or near as dam it ph is 7

IPs often take a very long time to become a problem. If the puffer can't gain weight, I'd say it's time to treat for IPs. Prazipro or jungle tank buddies anti parasite fizz tabs have praziquantel and have worked for people. Flubendazole is effective as well.

Lisa I used Wormer Plus from Plymouth Discus (available online) for my DPs and never had any problems with IPs after I first dosed them with it when I got them over a year ago

Thank you i am going to get some, unfortunately little man died last night, but i think i will treat the other 2 in the tank to make sure. i have to go to plymouth tomorrow so will try and get into plymouth discus. Thanks again
