How many more than me have there f8 in a comunity tank?

How many more than me which has had there f8 in a coumity tank with great sucess.

I have a 110x 50 x 50 tank
with
3 F8 (larges one 10 cm)
6 chada ranga
4 molly
2 guppys
1 cromides a female ( had a male and some kids also, but that put stess to the tank)
5 bumelbies
mt snails

aproimate 1.005 (with special marin salt for soft water that has better buffering)
smal size coral gravel
2 big bog boogwood ( magnrove)
5 dirent kinds of living plants(more plants but it´s 5 difrent spices)
Feed the 6 days a week.

Had this tank aproximate 4 years and throught that time I have slowly added more fishes and more plants.
But than I have about 5- 8 spare tanks if needing to move any one.
I going to buying a lilte biger tank soon, so I could add a nice background I have.

Had some problem with the male cromides, he liked to pick on the mollys and stessed them out, but alwasy the big female ones.
2 years ago my f8 killed one molly, but it was more my fault, had worked alot so forgot that I had already had my food free day one day before and they did get food on 2 days so the thired day, they show me what happens if they don´t get food.

My is n´t evean fin nippers.
Evan if f8 can turn one day, I think some factor afects the turning( but offorce it always mean ones also)
Food, good space, stress either from smal set up/crowded/bad waterquality or some agresive fish ( like my male cromids when spawning) and a good intresting interiur affects when and if they turn.

So are there any more which has suscess with f8 in comunnity tanks?

yeha it seem f8s are realy tame but i wouldnt put them in there wiht community fish i put mine in with a few gobys but they learned quick to get out of the way when they have to

i have 12 b/b gobies with my 6 f8s
the only time they are in danger is at feeding time when the f8s become aggresive , the gobies stay out of the way picking up scraps and once the puffs are full they move in and mop up the rest

i was looking for a few more fish to add to mine , maybe another type of gobie

I know that alot of people sees the b/b as their primary choose if wanting to add another fishes spices to a f8 tank, but if you don´t have a smal tank I would say chada ranga, they realy know how to behavi togheter with f8, they fast, has ultra fast response time, they also like to stim, they are simply a great adition to a brackish tank and wotrk so good togheter with f8.
I was browsing Neale Monks( Hi Neale) web pages about brakish tanks and saw hes video from his tanke where he has his sap and in the backgound you could see I think some chada ranga( or some cousine of theirs) so I guess they would work well togheter with other puffers also.

One thing I learned have as much difrent fishes togheter with my f8 is when feeding them is that you want to spread the food around, how more you can spread it the better.
Evryone will then get food, both the slow movers and the fast mover.
And don´t serve to big pices, becuse if some fish get holde of a big pices and they swim around with that the f8 will try to take it.
If I keep this to rules when feeding the aggresion is zero or next to zero.

I have generally found F8's to be VERY mild, and the size or attitudes of other available brackish fish to be a much bigger barrier to tankmate success than the F8's creating problems. If they did well in FW would guess they would be almost as tankmate-friendly as SAP, though SAP seem cospecific friendly in a way I've seen in no other puffer available on the market.

I have 4 F8's in a Rio 240 along with 3 mollies,2 waspfish 3 knight gobies 2 orange chromides and a green chromide.
The knight gobies are spawning every month and it is quite amazing to see a F8 pushed out of the way by a rushing Knight gobie protecting the eggs.

Nick, I do fully agree with you and it was becuase of that I started this thread.
Have visit this forum for many years now and alitl suprise that most people to a spices only or only with b/b.
Chilkids is often more of a problem than this guys.

Knight gobies and the blue eye rainbow fish, the one Neale Monks tiped about, will be my next adition to the tank, but going to wait until my new tank is coming.

Is it the poison one?

Do you have a female and a male chromides?(orange).
Must say chromids is serius smart fishes, my male could hide in the sand and could play dead when I tried to catch it, but he was a bullier and so was all his male children also.
My spaw each 14 days, aleast.

Patric,
The waspfish are neovespicula Depressifrons and it is venomous not poisonous.
I am not sure if the orange chromides are a male and female.
One is much brighter than the other and they spend a lot of time squabbling

Sounds like your is a female and male or femal and female.
Realy nice orange colors, my was/is more yellow than orange.
The funny thing is realy hard to find on the net and in must books, how to se if it´s a boy or girl, but evryone I have seen had been very easy to spot the difrense.
Look at this picture http://www.brackvattensakvariet.se/sido ... ulatus.htm this is a girl, if you look at here tail fin you can see two white strips( < ) indicating that this is a girl, if no wihite strip, it´s should be a boy! and boy often is bigger than the girl also.

also have u had any probs with the puffs trying to eat the mts as ive read their shells can break the puffs beaks
