So I finally am getting a new puff. My store is ordering some figure8's. Right now I'm cycling my tank with ammonia. I brought ammonia up to about 1ppm and used some sand, filter media and plants from another tank. I did start to cycle my tank at salinity of about 1.008, because they will be getting them in at that SG. It's my 20gallon tank, and I'm just going to get one f8.

Daily testing awaaaaay!

What kind of foliage could I use in this tank? Oh and are BBG's okay with f8's? Or is there another fish I can get?

I'm excited :'D

From what I've read F8's are ok with bumblebee Gobies, you'd just need to check the stocking levels for the tank to make sure you don't over stock.

BB gobies should work fine, mollies might work too.

lol noooo mollies for me. I had my fare share of those. If I ever get a livebearer again, it's going to be Celebes Half-beak. =]

With BBG's I was thinking just one or two with my puff.

I had 3 bbg with my f8 until 2 died because they were sick when I got them. I love the little bbgs they are so cute and my f8 doesn't even notice mine because he is so small. They seem to be doing great together! Good luck f8s are so cute!

Well, if you're talking about plants, I have seen people here having success with anacharis, valisnerias, java fern and java moss, watersprite, hornwort... I'm keeping all of them in my 20G (except the hornwort), NOW I'm raising the SG (I'm still at 1.001). It's too early to say something...

IME, my first F8

ate all of my BBGs... the F8 I have know got along with my black mollies (including their babies

)

i've done BBGs with DPs and figure 8's, they work well either way it seems.

My boyfirend just added a knight goby to his tank and we don't know much about them. He unlike me doesn't like to do research hee hee! Are they like the bbg's or not?

They're totally unlike bbgs. They enjoy swimming much more than bumblebees, though they do rest on the bottom of the tank. They are fairly aggressive feeders, pushing bigger fish(jade gobies in this case) out of the way to get to food. They're light brackish and so do well with F8s.

I guess my bbg is different then because when I bought his/her they told me say hello to him and don't get attached because I would never see him again. Mine like to stick to the side on the tank and when I sit next to the tank he comes by to say hello. I really like the bbg they are small but they are so funny. Mine loves the frozen bloodworms and when he eats them he always lets it sit half in his mouth and half out. Are they like a schooling fish or not? What I have read they don't like each other. Sorry its kinda off topic but it might help in your choice of putting them in your tank.

Mine are a group of 6, and they like each other the same way DP's like each other... it's a tolerance that drifts towards affection when breeding. But they seem to have no stocking issues with 6 in a 15.

Well I have a 14 and I only have one, I guess there is no way of sexing them? The last two I got were sick so they didn't last long
