Palembang Puffer Tank Mate

Post by matt748 »

Hi Guys, Any suggestions as to what i could put in my tank with my Palembang Puffer?
The tank is about 130 Litres and the Puffer is doing well.
Will a tank mate upset him? Should i just leave him alone? Could i put another puffer in with him?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Matt.

A tank mate will probably be eaten...
You could chance on another Palembang if your fish aint to big.
(But watch out for aggression.)

Thanks Woland.
The Puffer is approx 4 inches long and seems quite happy now he has settled.
I thought it would be nice to have a buddy for him though and more interesting for me seeing as these guys don't move around too much.
Do you have or ever had more than one in the same tank?

I agree, most fish will become dinner. If your tank is large enough you could house another palembang but you would need to have loads of hidey holes and lines of sight would need to be obscured. Even still that would be no guarantee that they wouldn't turn on one another. I think its best to keep just one and let him get attatched to the the one that brings food :P
