Dwarf puffers aren't brackish puffers, so you shouldn't have to add any salt! Check the Puffer Pedia just to make sure you actually have Dwarf Puffers.

Definately no ssalt at all for DPs. Good thing you found us & asked 1st! That's how I killed my 1st 3 DPs, thinking they were brackish.

If you have a Ceylon, then you should invest in a Hydrometer. They measure the Specific Gravity (SG) of the water, which will tell you how much salt you have in it. I usually use 1/4 cup per 2 gallons of water to get an SG of about 1.008.

Look in the Puffer Pedia for information about the Ceylon. As they get older (and larger) they require higher and higher salinity in the water (ie. higher SG). I don't have a Ceylon, so you might want to wait for someone with personal experience to help you out with this.
