Puffer ID - Last Ditch Effort!!

I have been trying to find the actual name for a freshwater puffer I saw at one of our local aquarium stores...
They labelled it as a double saddle puffer and said it was a very common name, but I can't find it anywhere - now I wouldn't get a puffer without knowing everything about it - but I can find no info...checked pufferpedia and several other puffer sites. Can only find saddled puffer as an alternate name for the SW valentino puffer, and it isn't that. Maybe someone knows the actual name of this puffer??
I will try and describe, but I didn't take a pic at the place.

It was kind of the shape/size of a T.Abei, it was orange, and had two dark saddle markings on the side (hence "double saddle")
It was about 10cm or so (4 in) - Does this ring a bell at all?
I called the fish place and they were very vague about the size it got (they said maybe 6-8 inches, maybe smaller???)
They seemed very sure it was FW, but were kind of vague on all the other details, so who knows....I also checked BW sites...
It was a great looking puffer, but I won't consider buying it unless I know exactly what it is!

Can anyone help, or do I need a pic?

That's it - or WOULD be it if it's colour were better! Maybe it would be if he were in the proper conditions! Now I REALLY want to get him!
They are selling it as a FW puffer - good for a 20g tank!!! I am in the process of setting up a BW puffer tank - I would LOVE to bring him home and slowly increase to brackish for him! But apparently my tank is too small - it's a 30g bowfront and that site says 55g would be a good size for him.

Oh - now I'm confused...
I have been searching for all the Takifugu Ocellatus info I can find, and alot of it is very conflicting!
Tank size and waterparameters (especially temperature) seems to be different on each site...
I have also noticed mention of how expensive they are (150 dollars and up!)
The fish I was looking at was WAYYYYYYYY cheaper - now I am worried I am looking up the wrong fish...

Thats because no one is really sure about temperature, some think a cool temperature in close to marine salinity others try a more normal tropical temperature.

If the shop doesnt know what it is then how can they price it according to other shops. A bargain could be had here.

There not very common, chances are it is T, Ocellatus. There is also very little information on them on the web. I do believe they have care requirements very similar to F8s.

I highly suggest against purchasing this fish. Even the top puffer experts in the world, have difficulty keeping this puffer alive for more than about 4 months. A couple of folks have had some sucess keeping it near SW conditions & in cold water. They are vicious puffers & need a lot of room.

I am still sad to think that that beautiful fish will end up in a 20g FW tank
Well I still have the 30g bowfront that is open for new puffer inhabitants...
I was originally going to get 2F8's, but would really like a larger single fish - unfortunately I think my tank is too small for that!
