I am new to the puffer thing not fish keeping. Ive got a 55 and wanna do a freshwater puffer that would be a good size to live in the 55 for life so like 6 inch. tried to do some research and realized there is way more puffers than i thought. id like something with a stripe or spot pattern and the more aggressive the better. If anyone could give me a suggestion on what to research that would be great as i am a little lost right now. too many puffers to choose from! thanks.

I think the arrowhead/pignise (T suvattii) is an interesting-looking fish.

Suvatti is cool looking, but at least my suvatti is really boring. He never moves, except at feeding time. I would go for a more active puffer.
I love the m. abei, myself. I had one, who unfortunately jumped out of the tank through the feeding hole (and I didn't find him until it was much too late). They are aggressive and really cool puffers

Beautiful too.

Modestus rarely get bigger than 4 inches, but they're not too aggressive. They look really cool, though and they'd do great in a 55G. Take a look at their pufferpedia or something
