I have been thinking about FW Puffer for 35 gallon hex.

I'm new here. The site has alot of good info. I may have a 35 gallon hex empty (if my current pairing does not work out) and i was thinking of a puffer. I know i would like a freshwater puffer, is that possible in a small footprint tank like a hex?i have not had good look with brackish in the past.I would like some suggestions on the species, and a online suppler/breeder if possible. My local stores are horrible. thanks for any suggestions Zach

Welcome to the forum! You can keep a few dwarves in a 35hex but not as many as a standard shaped 35. You might get away with 1-2 SAPs but I think dwarves are the best bet. Liveaquaria sells them but there a little pricy there.

SAP's which is short for what? South american right, Colomesus Asellus.
By dwarfs do you mean the 1" puffers, carinotetraodon travancorius .
I read here in one of the articles that singlely housed puffers may be best is that correct?

and Depends on the species. SAPs are schooling puffers and dps do fine with other dps. Puffers like Fahakas though are best left by themselves.
