Poll: Are you keeping and or breeding shrimp?

I have an Amano over 4 years old, and one that just died very recently. I tried adding some friends half a year ago, but they did not last all that long, never even getting as large as the original pair. The female of my original pair carried eggs occasionally, but the offspring never survived, and I suspect the batches of eggs aged the female quicker than the male.

Nick - my oldest Amanos were over six years old, and most were males. I do agree that shrimp females, as with many egg-layer fish, definitely age faster than the males. all that egg production and carrying must be a heavy metabolic load.
